From the 1945s to the 1960s, the gecondu is often referred to as a structure that is able to meet the "innocent" housing needs of poor families, with its own low income level and is rapidly built in a night. In the period after the 1960s, the rapidly growing city migration phenomenon has increased the number of gecekondu settlements as a solution to the housing gap as well as the nursing consciousness. The urbanization phenomenon, at this stage, has seen it as a heterogeneous structure, unlike integrity, and has turned into areas of poverty in major cities. In Turkey, the gecekondu, and in Brazil, the study of the locally separated settlements called favela in an economic, cultural and social perspective is important in terms of understanding why and how poverty areas arise, and how they develop. For this purpose, the work was carried out in the framework of the explanation of the concept of spatial separation and the study of the gecekondu culture in Turkey and the feudal culture in Brazil was provided.
