Abstract:

Soft power has been a common tool used by actors who want to expand their sphere of influence in a conflict-free manner in modern times. China uses soft power as a tool to expand its sphere of influence and increase its power in the international order. The purpose of this research is to explain how China uses soft power and the gains it obtains from it through examples. The underlying assumption of the research is that China has historically and currently uses soft power to strengthen its position in international politics. China's situation in Africa, specifically Ethiopia, is proof of this. Accordingly, in the research, the soft power tools and practices used by China were identified. The research was handled through a sample case, and starting from the micro scale, China's soft power policy in global politics was explained on the macro scale. It contributed to the literature by explaining China's soft power through an example case. The research was prepared with the descriptive analysis method.
