Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu tarafından yayınlanan veriler son dönemlerde işgücünün dışında kalanların sayısının işgücü sayısıyla paralel olduğunu ve işgücünün dışında kalanların büyük bir çoğunluğunun ev işleriyle meşgul olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. Türkiye’de çalışma ekonomisi ve makroekonomi literatüründe yer alan birçok çalışma kadınların işgücüne katılımının belirleyicileri üzerine odaklanırken, işgücünün dışına odaklanan çalışma sayısı oldukça sınırlıdır. Bu noktadan hareketle çalışmanın amacı, 2015 yılında Türkiye’de ev işleriyle uğraşanların belirleyicilerini analiz etmektir. İstatistiki Bölge Birimleri Sınıflandırması-Düzey 2 altında yer alan 26 bölge verileri ile yapılan analiz neticesinde elde edilen bulgular, hanehalkı kullanılabilir gelirindeki artışın ev işleriyle uğraşanların sayısını pozitif etkilediğini; kadınların eğitim düzeyindeki ve reel asgari ücretteki artışların ise negatif etkilediğini göstermektedir. Bu bulgu, kadınların işgücüne katılımını belirleyen unsurların aksine ev işleriyle uğraşmalarında etkili olan temel faktörlerin demografik değil, iktisadi olduğunu göstermektedir. Ayrıca çalışmada, elde edilen bulgular neticesinde geliştirilebilecek politika çıkarımları da tartışılmıştır.
The data published by the Turkish Statistical Bureau reveal that the number of people left outside the workforce in recent periods is parallel to the number of people left outside the workforce and that the vast majority of those left outside the workforce are engaged in homework. While many studies in the work economy and macroeconomic literature in Turkey are focused on the determinants of women’s participation in labour, the number of work focused outside the labour is quite limited. From this point on, the goal of working with the move is to analyze the determiners of those who deal with homework in Turkey in 2015. Statistical Regional Units Classification - Results from the analysis of the 26 regional data below Level 2 show that the increase in household affordable income has a positive impact on the number of people engaged in homework and that the increase in women’s educational and real minimum wages has a negative impact. This finding shows that the main factors that influence women’s participation in work, unlike the elements that determine women’s participation in work, are not demographic, but economic. The study also discussed the policy outcomes that could be developed as a result of the findings obtained.
