Abstract Taking into consideration educational opportunities in the information technology era, smart education is no longer a novel concept, particularly in developed countries all over the world. Smart education, in fact, is becoming increasingly popular among students. It has been adopted in Vietnam, and the results have been overwhelmingly positive, according to the government. In particular, the objective of this article is to evaluate previous studies on smart education, as well as the current situation of smart schools in Vietnam, as well as to critique research frameworks for smart education and to make recommendations. Last but not least, recommendations are provided for the implementation and evaluation of intelligent educational programs throughout Vietnam, with a particular emphasis on Binh Duong Province. Over the past few years, study into the transition processes of other nations has yielded proposals and references for the development of smart education both in Vietnam, specifically in the province of Binh Duong, and in other countries.
