The purpose of this research is to determine the effects of Student Teams and Achievement Divisions (SAV) technique, which is a technique of cooperative learning, on academic achievement of students and to analyze students' opinions on this technique. The mixed methodology was used in the research. The participants of this study were 49 students (27 experimental and 22 control) studying in the fifth year of a secondary school in the center of Bursa. The data were collected using the "geometric success test" and the "interview form". As a result of the analyses, it was determined that the students to whom the Student Teams and Achievement Divisions technique was applied were more successful than the students to whom the curriculum was applied. As a result of the interviews with ten students in the experimental group, it was concluded that the students improved their ability to work together, communication skills and contributed to the students' sense of responsibility.
