From XI.to the first quarter of the XX. century, Iranian Geography was constantly ruled by the Turkish States. Generally speaking, the Turkish states founded in Iran, starting from the Safavids, viewed the Sunni Ottoman Empire as the greatest political rival for themselves and these states have been engaged in many struggles for a long time period. Such a power struggle can be observed during XVIII. century as well since Nadir Shah Afşar who took over the administration in Iran in the first quarter of the century maintained the same policy. But later, Nadir Shah Afşar has also made some attempts to solve problems with the Ottoman Empire in that period. In this article, Nadir Shah Afshar period will be evaluated and a list of academic works in Turkey about the Ottoman-Iranian relations will be presented.
