Araştırmanın amacı, Estabrooks, Squires, Cummings, Birdsell ve Norton (2009) tarafından geliştirilen Alberta Context Tool ölçeğinin alt ölçeği olan Ahenk Yaratan Liderlik (Resonant Leadership) ölçeğini Türkçeye uyarlamak ve ölçeğin geçerlik ve güvenirlik analizlerini yapmaktır. Araştırmanın ilk aşamasında ölçek İngilizceden Türkçeye çevrilmiş ve dil geçerliği uzman görüşleri ile doğrulanmıştır. Ölçeğin dil eşdeğerliğini sınamak için 50 İngilizce öğretmeninden iki hafta arayla ölçeğin İngilizce ve Türkçe formunu doldurmaları istenmiştir. Ölçeklerin analizi sonucunda; her iki ölçekteki toplam puanlar ve ölçeklerdeki aynı numaralı maddeler arasında yüksek düzeyde pozitif ve anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışması için ölçek Malatya, Battalgazi ilçesinde görev yapan basit seçkisiz örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilmiş 247 öğretmene uygulanmıştır. Ölçeğin yapı geçerliğini saptamak için açımlayıcı ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizi yapılmış; güvenirliği için Cronbach Alpha katsayısı incelenmiştir. Açımlayıcı faktör analizinde ölçek, özgün formundakine benzer şekilde, 10 maddeden oluşan tek boyutlu bir yapı göstermiş ve veriler değerlendirildiğinde, toplam varyansın %60.26’sını açıklamıştır. Doğrulayıcı faktör analizinde ulaşılan uyum iyiliği değerleri, iyi ve kabul edilebilir uyum düzeyinde çıkmış ve ölçeğin tek faktörlü yapısını doğrulamıştır. Ayrıca, standartlaştırılmış yükler, t ve R2 değerlerinin .05 düzeyinde anlamlı olduğu ve ölçek maddelerine ilişkin faktör yüklerinin kabul edilebilir düzeyde olduğu saptanmıştır. Ölçeğin güvenirlik analizinde ise Cronbach Alpha iç tutarlılık katsayısı .93 olarak bulunmuştur. Ahenk Yaratan Liderlik ölçeğinin, öğretmen algılarına göre okul müdürlerinin ahenk yaratan liderlik becerilerini ölçmek için eğitim örgütlerinde kullanılabilecek geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olduğu söylenilebilir.
The aim of the research is to adapt the Ahenk Creating Leadership scale, the underscale of the Alberta Context Tool scale developed by Estabrooks, Squires, Cummings, Birdsell and Norton (2009) and to make validity and reliability analyses of the scale. In the first phase of the study, the scale was translated from English to Turkish and the validity of the language was confirmed by expert opinions. To test the language equality of the scale, 50 English teachers were asked to fill the English and Turkish form of the scale between two weeks. The analysis of the scales concluded that there was a high-level positive and meaningful relationship between the total points in both scales and the same number of substances in the scales. The scale for validity and reliability studies has been applied to 247 teachers chosen by the simple non-selective sample method that serves in the Battalgazi district of Malta. The Cronbach Alpha ratio has been studied for reliability for the detection and verifying factor analysis to determine the structural validity of the measurement. In the opening factor analysis, the scale showed a single-dimensional structure consisting of 10 substances, similar to its original form, and when the data were evaluated, it described 60.26% of the total variance. The conformity well-being values achieved in the verifying factor analysis were at a good and acceptable level of conformity and confirmed the one-factor structure of the scale. Also, standardized loads, t and R2 values. It is determined that the level 05 is meaningful and the factor burden relating to the scale matters is acceptable. The internal consistency ratio of Cronbach Alpha is .93. Ahenk Creating Leadership scale can be said to be a valid and reliable measurement tool that can be used in educational organizations to measure school managers’ harmonious leadership skills according to teachers’ perceptions.
Abstract This study aims to adapt the Turkish version of the Resonant Leadership scale, a subscale of the Alberta Context Tool developed by Estabrooks, Squires, Cummings, Birdsell, and Norton (2009) for educational organizations and to perform validity and reliability analyses of the scale. At first, the scale was translated into Turkish, and its linguistic validity was confirmed with expert opinions. It is titled as Ahenk Yaratan Liderlik Ölçeği. Both English and Turkish scale were applied to 50 English teachers two weeks apart so as to evaluate the linguistic equivalence of the scale. Then, a highly positive and meaningful relationship between the total scores from two scales and the same numbered substances on both scales was deduced. After the linguistic equivalence was achieved, the scale was applied to the participants selected by a random sampling method. 247 teachers in Malatya, Battalgazi in the 2021-2022 academic year took part in research for the validity and reliability studies. The exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and the Cronbach Alpha coefficient was used to verify the validity and reliability of the scale. In the exploratory factor analysis, it shows a one-dimensional structure consisting of ten items similar to its original form and explains 60.26% of the total variance. The goodness of fit values which were acquired in a consequence of the confirmatory factor analysis indicated an acceptable and good level of fit, which confirms the single-factor structure of the scale. Cronbach Alpha coefficient was calculated as α = .93. In conclusion, Turkish Adaptation of The Resonant Leadership Scale for Principals can be acclaimed as an effectual, dependable and sufficient tool to evaluate the leadership characteristics of principals as to the perceptions of teachers.
