Bu araştırmanın amacı, devlet okulu ve özel okul öğrencilerinin dijital vatandaşlık kavramına yönelik görüşlerini karşılaştırmak, benzerlik ve farklılıklarını ortaya koymaktır. Bu çalışma, nitel yöntemle yapılan bir durum(vaka) çalışmasıdır. Bu çalışma 2018-2019 Eğitim Öğretim yılında yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, Van İli İpekyolu İlçesi’nde eğitim veren Özel Çınar Ortaokulu 8.Sınıf öğrencilerinden 20 öğrenci ile Van İli Edremit İlçesi’nde eğitim veren Mehmet Akif İnan Ortaokulu’nun 8.Sınıf öğrencilerinden 20 öğrenci olmak üzere 40 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verileri, nitel veri toplama araçlarından görüşme tekniği kullanılarak yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu yardımıyla elde edilmiştir. İçerik analizi yöntemi ile araştırma verileri çözümlenmiştir. Devlet okulu ve özel okul öğrencileri arasında belirgin bir farklılık gözlenmemiştir, dijital vatandaşlık boyutlarına yönelik öğrenci görüşleri birbirine benzerlik göstermektedir. Elde edilen verilere göre öğrencilerin tümünün interneti kullandığı, daha çok cep telefonlarıyla erişim sağladıkları, interneti en çok eğlence amaçlı kullandıkları görülmektedir. Öğrencilerin genelinin internetten alışveriş yaptıkları, daha çok bilindik sitelere girdikleri, internette sahip olunan haklar konusunda öğrencilerin tamamının hak ve sorumluluklara uygun davrandıkları, internet aracılığıyla daha çok tanıdıkları kişilerle (akraba ve arkadaş) görüştükleri görülmektedir. Bazı öğrencilerin ise oyunlar vasıtasıyla tanımadıkları kişilerle de görüştüklerini söyledikleri görülmektedir. Öğrenciler özel bilgilerini kimseyle paylaşmadıklarını belirtmişlerdir. Öğrencilerin çoğunun bilişim suçlarından haberdar oldukları belirlenmiştir. İnternetin aşırı kullanımının beraberinde getirdiği sorunlardan haberdar olan öğrenciler, bu durumları, aşırı kilo alma-obezite, bağımlılık, göz rahatsızlıkları, şiddet, çevreye zarar verme, zorbalık, kas-iskelet rahatsızlıkları, baş ağrısı ruhsal bozukluklar, sinir bozuklukları, yorgunluk, tembellik, sosyalleşememe, dikkat dağınıklığı ve odaklanamama, radyasyona maruz kalmak olarak ifade etmişlerdir.
The aim of this research is to compare the views of public schools and private schools students on the concept of digital citizenship, to reveal their similarities and differences. This study is a case-made study by a quality method. This study was conducted in the 2018-2019 educational year. The study’s work group consists of 20 students from the 8th grade of the Special Chinar High School who educated in the Van Ili Ipekyolu District and 20 students from the 8th grade of the Mehmet Akif Inan High School who educated in the Van Ili Edremit District. The research data was obtained with the help of a semi-configured conversation form using the conversation technique from the quality data collection tools. The research data is analyzed by the content analysis method. There is no distinct difference between public school and private school students, the student views on the dimensions of digital citizenship are similar to each other. According to the data obtained, all students use the internet, they make more access with their mobile phones, they use the internet for the most fun purposes. It is seen that the whole of the students shop on the internet, they enter the more well-known sites, they all behave in accordance with the rights and responsibilities of the students on the internet, they talk with the people they know more via the internet (families and friends). Some students say they talk with people they don’t know through games. Students said they did not share their personal information with anyone. Most of the students are aware of cyber crimes. Students who are aware of the problems brought by overuse of the internet have expressed these situations as overweight-obesity, addiction, eye disorders, violence, damage to the environment, harassment, muscle-skeletal disorders, headaches, mental disorders, nerve disorders, fatigue, tenderness, socialization, disturbance of attention and incapacity, exposure to radiation.
