Around the world it is a common culture that women play major role in cooking and all kitchen related activities. Indoor environment varies in rural and urban areas due to their different dependence on kitchen types, environment, ventilation, fuel and stove use. Women in rural areas are more at risks. Headache, eye allergies and swelling, asthma along with other respiratory problems, ear infection, cataract and oral cancer are associated with the use of traditional kitchen, stove and fuel. For this purpose, a study was conducted in rural areas of district Faisalabad. The total sample size of women was 240. Through this study, it was investigated that respondents with open kitchen had less health complications while high level of implications was found with the use of blocked kitchen. This study has shown that the use of tandoor oven is more dangerous to women health as compared to the other types of stoves. In study area, it was found that the use of dung was responsible for the negative health impact as compared to wood and agricultural waste. This study concluded that there must need public health related programs particularly for women who can inform rural community about the risk of indoor smoke and can recommend ways to use traditional fuel with healthy manners.
