Abstract:

The aim of this research is to thoroughly explore the opinions of classmates to determine the effects of the problems they have experienced on the academic success of other students. The research sample consists of eight class teachers selected from different schools. This research has been carried out in the framework of the qualitative research with a semi-configured interview form. The research model is defined as a phenomonological (event science) research, which is one of the quality research patterns. The data is analyzed using visual and content analysis techniques. The class teachers who participated in the study expressed their problems with refugee students in the form of communication problems, harmony problems, groupings, misconduct behaviors, disruption of class order, slowing the speed of the class and challenging class management. It has been found that the view that class teachers and refugee students experience these problems has a significant impact on the school order, class management and the school’s academic success has gained weight. According to the findings, the researchers have presented a number of recommendations to refugee students, such as the application of orientation, the provision of Turkish language education, the opening of matching classes, the distribution of students to classes according to the levels of academic success.
