Abstract:

The Ministry of Health is the most important actor taking responsibility for the delivery of health services in Turkey. In addition, local governments also have important responsibilities arising from the legislation in the provision of health services. The main purpose of the study is to determine the role of local governments in the provision of health services and to evaluate the satisfaction levels of individuals for the health services provided by municipalities. The research universe consists of all individuals over the age of 18 living in the city centers of Antalya, Isparta and Burdur. Quota sampling is chosen as the sampling method, and 615 questionnaires are analyzed within the scope of the research. As a data collection tool in the study, the questionnaire "On Determining the Views of Individuals on Health Services Provided by Municipalities" developed by the researchers is used. As a result of the research, when the satisfaction levels of individuals from the health services provided by the municipalities are compared in terms of the Western Mediterranean provinces, the ranking of Antalya, Burdur and Isparta is reached. In the light of the findings, it is suggested that studies should be carried out in cooperation with the central government in a way to increase the perception and knowledge level of individuals regarding the services provided by the municipalities and the satisfaction level of the individuals regarding the health services provided by the municipalities.
