Abstract:

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship of emotional intelligence levels with academic ratings in individuals who do individual sports. 113 people who received education at the Faculty of Sports Sciences of the Ushak University, which can be accessed by easy sampling method, were eligible to participate as 18 years old and healthy volunteers. Volunteers who accepted to participate in the study were first applied to the sociodemographic form of information, the reviewed Schutte Emotional Intelligence Scale. By the end of the year, the average level of emotional intelligence was compared. Our study calculated the total Cronbach Alfa intolerance reliability ratio of the first-used scale. Later, three groups formed according to the score average of individual sports students, Schutte Emotional Intelligence Scale was compared in terms of the Tukey multi-comparation test with the overall and lower-dimensional total score average. The data was analyzed with SPSS v23. The comparison of the formed groups with each other in terms of scale points was done by t-test and one-way variance analysis. The results were discussed according to the relevant literature.
