1990 yılında, Kastamonu il merkezinin 32 km kuzeydoğusunda yer alan Devrekâni ilçesi, Kınık mahallesi yakınlarında inşa edilecek olan Kulaksızlar Barajı Projesi’nin ön hazırlıkları sırasında bir grup Hitit metal kabı bulunmuştur. Hitit metal kaplarının buluntu yeri olarak gösterilen Delibeyoğlu Sırtı Ören Yeri’nde 1994 yılında başlatılan kurtarma kazıları ile hem metal kapların buluntu yeri kesinleşmiş hem de MÖ 4. binyılın sonlarından MÖ 1. binyılın ilk yarısına kadar, ara kesintilerin de yaşandığı, üç tabakalı (I, II.1-2 ve III. tabaka) düz iskân yeri saptanmıştır. Söz konusu iskânlardan biri, bu çalışmanın konusunu oluşturan madenci işliğidir (II.1 erken safha). MÖ 3. binyılın ikinci yarısına tarihlenen işlik, taş örgülü küçük oda gruplarından ve çok sayıdaki depolama çukurlarından oluşmaktadır. Odaların çevresinden ve çukurlardan elde edilen pota, üfleç, kırma-ezme ve öğütme taş aletleri ile fırın kalıntıları madenci ustaları tarafından kullanılan işliğin günümüze ulaşan kanıtlarını sunmaktadır. Kastamonu-Kınık, MÖ 3. binyıla tarihlenen ve geniş alanda kazısı yapılan az sayıdaki madenci yerleşmelerinden biridir. Bu çalışma, yerleşme ile ilgili genel sonuçları içermektedir.
In 1990, the Devrekâni district, located 32 km northeast of the Kastamonu district center, was found a group of Hitit metal container during the preliminary preparations of the Kulakslar Barjı project, which will be built near the Kınık district. The pot, flushing, breaking-cutting and boiling stone tools obtained from the surroundings of the rooms and holes and the oven remains provide the evidence of the work used by the miners to date. Kastamonu-Kınık is one of the few mining settlements that date from the 3rd millennium BC and have been mined in a wide area. This study contains general results related to settlement.
