Dünyanın kendince var ettiklerinin en başında şüphesiz mitler, anlatılar, arketipler diyebileceğimiz insan tortuları vardır. Yeryüzünü anlamaya korkarak başlayan insan kendince rahatlama biçimleri geliştirmiştir. Önce dünyayı sonra kendisini keşfetmesi olgunlaşma serüveninde oldukça önemlidir. Bütün yenileşme biçimlerine rağmen mitik değerlerin peşinde olması ise açıklanması zor bir durumdur. İnsanlığın ortak değerleri, ortak bilinç dışı bir anlamda insanı mite tekrar tekrar yöneltmektedir. Farklı isimler ve biçimlerde olsa da mit insan sözüne bir özgürlük getirmektedir. Uzun yılların birikimi bütün kültürlere kaynaklık etmektedir. Yaşayan, düşünen, üreten insanın yaklaşık değerleri adını en çok mitik malzemeyle tanımlamıştır. Türk şiir geleneği farklı zaman dilimlerinde ve farklı biçimlerde mitosu kullanmıştır. Erken dönemlerde tercümeler biçiminde başlayan bu yakınlık sonrasında özellikle şiirde daha işlevsel bir hal almıştır. Cumhuriyet şiirimizin sağlam bilinçlerinden olan “Behçet Necatigil” şiiri de mitolojinin farklı yansımalarını sıkça kullanmıştır. Ağırlıklı olarak Yunan Mitolojisi’ni benimseyen şair sözünün imge yüklerine önemli bir katkı sağlamıştır. Geniş bir kültür birikimine sahip olan “Necatigil” Türk mitolojisi, Batı mitolojisi ve dini kültür kaynaklarından aldığı birçok malzemeden yararlanmış ve evrensel formlar içerisinde kendi şiir evreninde kullanmıştır. Burada dikkat çeken en önemli nokta yukarıda da değinmeye çalıştığımız gibi ortak yapılara ulaşma niyetidir. Mitin evrensel yapısı şairin evrenselleşme niyetleriyle birleşmiştir. Bir anlamda “Necatigil” şiiri dünya şiiri olma niyetinde bu evrensel formları kullanmıştır.
In the beginning of what the world itself exists, there are undoubtedly myths, stories, archetypes that we can call. The man who begins to be afraid of understanding the earth has developed ways of self-release. It is very important to discover the world first and then in the maturity. Despite all forms of renewal, it is difficult to explain that the mythical values are pursuing. The common values of mankind, in a common unconscious sense, redirect man to myth again and again. Although in different names and forms, the myth brings a freedom to human speech. It has been a long time to bring about all the cultures. The approximate values of the living, thinking, producing person have been defined by the most mythical material. The Turkish poetry tradition used myths in different periods and different forms. After this proximity began in the form of translations in the early periods, it became more functional especially in poetry. The poem "Behçet Necatigil", which is a strong consciousness of our Republic poetry, has also often used different reflections of mythology. He has made a significant contribution to the image burden of the poet’s word, who adopted the Greek mythology. "Necatigil", which has a broad cultural accumulation, has taken advantage of the many materials it has received from the Turkish mythology, Western mythology and religious cultural sources and has used it in its own poetic universe in universal forms. The most important point that attracts attention here is the intention to reach common structures as we are trying to point out above. The universal structure of the myth is combined with the intentions of the poet’s universalization. In a sense, the poem "Necatigil" used these universal forms in the intention of becoming a world poem.

Though in different names and forms, myth brings a liberty to man's word. The accumulation of many years is the source of all cultures. The approximate values of a living, thinking, producing person are best defined by their mythic material.Turkish poetry tradition has used mythology in different time periods and in different forms. This closeness, which started in the form of translations in the early periods, became more functional especially in poetry. The Behçet Necatigil poem, one of the strong consciousness of the Republican poetry, frequently used different reflections of mythology. The poet, who mainly embraced Greek mythology, made an important contribution to the image burden. Necatigil, which has a wide cultural background, has benefited from many materials from Turkish mythology, Western mythology and religious culture sources and used it in its own poetic world in universal forms. The most important point that draws attention here is the intention to reach common structure as we tried to mention above. The mythic universal structure is combined with the poet's intention to universalize. In a sense, Necatigil has used these universal forms in the intention of poetry world poetry.
