Bu çalışmanın amacı ortaokul beşinci sınıf Sosyal Bilgiler dersi “Bölgemizi Tanıyalım” ünitesinde yer alan konuların öğretiminde drama yönteminin nasıl kullanılabileceğine ilişkin drama etkinlikleri oluşturmak ve oluşturulan drama etkinliklerinin öğrenci başarısına, kalıcılığına ve derse karşı tutumlarına etkisini araştırmaktır. Çalışma 2013-2014 eğitim-öğretim yılı güz yarıyılında Elazığ merkezde yer alan Mezre Ortaokulu beşinci sınıf öğrencileri üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Çalışma nicel araştırma niteliğinde olup, nicel verilerden yararlanılmıştır. Çalışmada öntest-sontest kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada bir deney (n=38) bir de kontrol (n=33) grubu bulunmaktadır. Deney grubunda dersler drama yöntemi ile işlenirken, kontrol grubunda dersler programa dayalı öğretim yöntem ve teknikler yoluyla işlenmiştir. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak başarı testi, tutum ölçeği ve görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen verilerin analizinde hem parametrik testlerden hem de non-parametrik testlerden yararlanılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda elde edilen veriler SPSS 17.00 programıyla analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular üzerinde doğru analiz yapabilmek amacıyla verilerin normal bir dağılım sergileyip-sergilemediğini kontrol etmek için Varyansların homojen dağılım gösterdiği durumlarda parametrik testlerden: Bağımlı Örneklemler (Paired Samples Statistics) t-testi, Bağımsız Örneklemler Independent (Bağımsız) t- testi testlerinden yararlanılmıştır. Varyansların normal bir dağılım sergilemediği durumlarda ise bu testlerin non-parametrik karşılığı olan Mann-Whitney U testinden yararlanılmıştır. The objective of this study is to create drama events on how the drama method can be used in teaching the subjects included in the secondary class Social Information course "Let's recognize our region" and to investigate the impact of the drama events created on student success, durability and attitudes against the class. The study was conducted on the students of the 5th grade of the Mezre High School located in the Elazığ center in the 2013-2014 educational-learning year. The study is quantial research and is used by quantial data. In the study, a semi-experimental pattern of the pre-test-sontest control group was used. The study contains a experiment (n=38) and a control group (n=33) in the study. While courses in the experimental group are processed by the drama method, courses in the control group are processed through the program-based teaching methods and techniques. In the research, the success test, attitude scale and interview form were used as a data collection tool. Analysis of the data obtained from the research has taken advantage of both parametric tests and non-parametric tests. The results of the study were analyzed with the SPSS 17.00 program. To verify whether the data shows a normal distribution in order to analyze the results obtained, the parametric tests in cases where the variants show a homogeneous distribution are used: T-Test of Dependent Samples (Paired Samples Statistics), T-Test of Independent (Independent) T-Test. In cases where the variants do not show a normal distribution, the Mann-Whitney U test, which is a non-parametric comparison of these tests, was used. The objective of the present study is to construct drama activities related to the use of drama method in the instruction of topics in the middle school fifth grade Social Studies course, "Learning About Our Region" unit, and to investigate the effect of the drama activities on student achievement, retention and student attitudes towards the course. The study was conducted with the fifth grade students in Mezre secondary school located at Elazığ city center during 2013-2014 academic year fall semester. The study is a quantitative study, perusing quantitative data. A study was used quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest and control group. A study (n = 38) and a control group (n = 33) were used in the study. In the study group, lessons were instructed with the drama method, while in the control group, lessons were instructed with teaching methods and techniques provided in the curriculum. An achievement test, attitude scale and interview form were used as data collection tools in the research. Both parametric and non-parametric tests were utilized in the analysis of the data obtained in the study. The results obtained in the study were analyzed with the SPSS 17.00 software. The parametric tests of Paired Samples Statistics t-test and Independent Samples t-test were used where the variance distribution was homogeneous to control whether the data exhibited normal distribution in order to analyze the collected data accurately.
