Tarih düşürme, Arap alfabesindeki harflerin ebced hesabındaki rakam değerlerini kullanmak suretiyle harflerin toplamının belirli bir hicret yılını gösteren bir kelime, tamlama, cümle, mısra, beyit söyleme veya doğrudan doğruya sözle ifade etme sanatıdır. Tarih manzumeleri, çoğunlukla doğum, ölüm, tahta çıkma, sefere çıkma, zafer kazanma, bir göreve atanma, evlenme, deprem, yangın gibi olaylara yazıldığı gibi cami, saray, çeşme, hamam, medrese, imaret gibi binaların yapım yılına veyahut bunların tamir yılları için de yazılabilmektedir. Lâle Devri olarak bilinen dönem (1718-1730) III. Ahmet’in saltanat yıllarında, Pasarofça antlaşmasıyla başlayıp Patrona Halil isyanıyla son bulmuştur. Padişahın sadrazamı ve damadı olan Nevşehirli İbrahim Paşa, on iki yıl süren sulh döneminde etrafına topladığı âlim ve şâirlerle bir Türk rönesansı başlatmaya çalıştı. Bu vesileyle başkent İstanbul’u çeşme, medrese, kütüphane ve saraylarla süsledi. İstanbul’da bu hayratla birlikte Avrupadan getirilen planlar doğrultusunda bahçeler, kasırlar ve köşkler yapıldı. Türkiyenin ilk matbaası Paşa tarafından desteklenerek açıldı. Damat İbrahim Paşa’nın bu imar faaliyetleri İstanbul’la sınırlı kalmadı. Yenilikçi sadrazam memleketi Nevşehir’e sekiz çeşme, medrese, kütüphane, imaret, cami, hamam ve kervansaray ile, Ürgüp’e on çeşme yaptırdı. Sadrazam İbrahm Paşa’nın Nevşehir’de yaptırdığı bu hayrâta dönemin nüfuzlu şâirleri tarihler söylemişlerdir. Ancak bu şâirlerden sadece Dürrî, Nedim, Seyyid Vehbî, Şâkir, Beliğ ve Âsım’ın söylediği tarihler zarif tâlik hatlarla bu yapılarda kitâbe hâline gelmiştir. Bu çalışmada Sadrazam Nevşehirli Damat İbrahim Paşa’nın Nevşehir il merkezinde yaptırdığı binaların kitâbeleri incelenmiştir. Kitâbeler okunarak transkripsiyon sistemine aktarılmış, kitâbelerdeki tarih şâirleri hakkında ilgili bölümlerde açıklamalarda bulunulmuştur.

However, only this poet from Dürrî, Nedim, Seyyid Vehbî, Şâkir, Beliğ and Âsım’s history poems have been become the inscription in this building with elegant sideline. In this study, has been studied the inscriptions of the building which have been builded The Grand Vizier Damat Ibrahim Pasha from Nevşehir in Nevşehir. Inscriptions after reading have been transferred to the reading transcription system and have been made part about the poet in the history inscription.
