Abstract:

The aim of this study is to evaluate the views of children with superior talent and normal development on the "intellectual environment". For this purpose, participants were asked to draw a picture of the virtual environment and answer the interview questions. Excellent talented individuals differ according to their age in all areas of development and in their leisure occupations. It is believed that the assessment of the views of superior talented children on the virtual environment that is among current topics and affects the social and emotional lives of individuals will also be a guide in other related areas. This study is a quality research. Participants were asked to first make a picture of the "virtual environment" and then answer the questions in the interview form. Answers are analyzed by content analysis. Creating categories that are compatible with the area, the topics are identified and comparable to individuals with superior abilities and normal development. Study 19 superior talents, 34 showing normal development, primary school 3 and 4. There were a total of 53 participants in the class. When the results were evaluated, there were differences in the drawings and forms of conversation of children with superior talent and normal development. The top talent has a greater number of themes, the theme content is richer and the scientific/technological content, while the normal development of the participants includes daily life/social relationships and content related to the course study. The results appear consistent with the indicated differences in the characteristics and interests of superior skilled individuals in the field.
