This research is carried out for the purpose of determining violence perception and motivation level for administrators, teachers and students in offi cial primary schools; evaluating the relationship between school violence and motivation. Under the scope of this research, concepts of violence and motivation in educational institution are examined and application works related to the subject is executed. The administrators, (n.56), teachers (n:249) and students (n:329) in the offi cial primary schools from the districts of Kartal, Pendik, Samandıra, Sancaktepe, Sultanbeyli, Maltepe, Bağcılar, Kadıköy, Üsküdar in İstanbul, formed the sample of this research. The data for the study obtained via three different scales. The fi rst is School Violence perception Scale which is used to determine the violence level at school according to school managers, teachers and students perceptions. The second is Motivation Level Scale for students at school. The third scale is used for motivation level of school managers, teachers. As a result of the difference tests, while the signifi cant difference is found statistically (p<0,05) among the sub groups of some demographic variables as sex and class stage, no difference was noticed statistically in some other groups which as age, educational level, marital status. The results of the research have indicated that there is a negative correlation between school violence and motivation at schools. Key words: Violence, school violence, motivation
