Th e goal of this study is to identify attitudes towards concept maps and concept mapping skills of junior and senior year students in 2011-2012 academic year Necmettin Erbakan University, Ahmet Keleşoglu Faculty of Education, Department of Science Education with respect to diff erent variables. For determining pre-service teachers’ attitude towards concept maps, 5 point likert “Concept Map Attitude Scale” was used. For evaluating their concept mapping skills, without any restriction, they were requested to compose a concept map about the issue that they know best about science. Concept maps were evaluated according to a rubric. Data that obtained from attitude scale and charts data, were analyzed with quantitative methods. According to these results with gender aspect, attitudes towards the concept map show meaningful diff erence for girls; skills results were in men’s favour but insignifi cant. In respect to class level, attitude of junior students and skills of senior students show meaningful diff erence. In point of effi cacy perception, pre-service teachers who have enough knowledge about drawing concept map, both attitudes and skills, show signifi cant diff erence.
