Emergency care and intervention is the whole of the health services offered to people to return to their routine and daily life when there are problems in their social welfare caused by the physical and mental illnesses that occur suddenly in people's normal lives, such as accidents, trauma. Individuals who apply to emergency service units are mostly in a crisis situation. The crisis process refers to a subjective perception and the crisis for a man described as a minor problem for someone else. Client profile perceives its own situation-specific crisis when it feels unsuccessful in solving individual problems and has insufficient resources to support it, and it needs emergency service medical social work intervention. The medical social worker also steps at this point and tries to intervene in the crisis and tries to solve the problem together with the client. In addition to this, the client groups of medical social work in emergency departments consist of people exposed to death, trauma, loss, violence, abandonment and abuse. The first condition for medical social work practices in emergency services to become established and gain importance is to know that the client's situation is subjective, to emphasize the intensity of the sensitive aspects and to have it felt by the medical treatment team. Thus, the aim of this article is to review medical social work practices in emergency services in Turkey, to describe the client profile and to briefly describe the points to be considered in emergency medical social work interview carried out during the emergency medical social work intervention. It should not be forgotten that the emergency medical social work intervention and interview are among the professional practices designed to strengthen the clients.
