Social work evaluates individuals in their environment with their biopsychosocial dimensions. The individual-in-environment approach deals with the physical environment of individuals as well as their social environment. This view requires social work to protect the rights of disadvantaged groups while at the same time considering environmental sustainability. The groups most affected by environmental disasters and climate change are the current client groups of social work. As these groups are more vulnerable to environmental disasters, their disadvantage may increase. This study proposes Green Social Service Units as a model, which aims to provide information, social assistance, advocacy and consultancy services to people who are disadvantaged as a result of climate change and environmental problems. Green Social Service Units adopt a holistic ecosocial approach to ensure environmental sustainability and environmental justice.
