Competitive advantage in businesses has begun to gain more importance and value than in the past along with the rapid increase in technological developments, and the effects of globalization and economic developments. Businesses also have to survive in this global and intense competitive environment. Businesses need qualified human resources to be able to achieve and sustain their strategic goals. For businesses, a human has ceased to be a cost element and has become a strategic element providing a competitive advantage. In this case, businesses have to motivate and retain human resources that are of vital importance for them. Here, to retain human resources will only be provided with the good human resources management. This also increases the importance of human resources management with each passing day. The aim of this study is to determine how human resources specialists perceive and apply strategic human resources. In the theoretical background of the study, the concept of Strategic human resources management (SHRM), its applications, horizontal and vertical dimensions will be discussed from a conceptual point of view. In the application section, the data will be analyzed in SPSS by performing a survey study to measure the horizontal and vertical dimensions of SHRM. The study is expected to be a guide with respect to SHRM applications for company executives who have adopted or will adopt the SHRM understanding in businesses.
