The aim of this study is to investigate whether there is a change in the mathematical modelling process in the beliefs of prospective mathematics teachers about teaching and learning of mathematics and mathematics. The sample of the study consisted of 38 elementary mathematics teachers who took "mathematical modelling" course. In this study, weak experimental single group pre- and post-test design, which is one of the experimental design of quantitative approach, was used. 5 point Likert-type belief scale about Mathematics, learning and teaching mathematics of 26 items was used as a data collection tool and the data was analyzed by means of using paired sample t-test. As a result of the study, it was observed that after the mathematical modelling method, the traditional beliefs scores of the prospective mathematics teachers’ candidates decreased, the constructivist beliefs scores and the total scores of the beliefs about mathematics increased, and these differences were found to be statistically significant.
