In this paper is analyzed the practices of the private and public banks on participative management style in the banking sector. The research data was obtained from personnel working in the public and private banks active in Kütahya through the participative management scale. Data obtained as a result of the field study were analyzed by univariate and multivariate statistical test techniques. The analyses used are frequency distributions, averages, t-test and cluster analysis. The results of the research have pointed out that there are significant differences regarding participative management practices between public and private banks in terms of statistics. In accordance with the information obtained as a result of the field study, it has been determined that private and public banks have differences in most practices and adopt medium level of participation. According to these focused results, the banks are required to attach more importance to participative management practices in order for their work environment to be more motivational
