Türkiye’de, Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı yapılandırmacı yaklaşım temelinde geliştirilen öğretim programlarını 2005-2006 öğretim yılından itibaren uygulamaya başlamıştır. Öğrenci merkezli öğretim yönteminin ön plana çıktığı bu yeni programlarda ölçme ve değerlendirme öğrenme sürecinin parçası olduğu anlayışı benimsemiştir. Sürece ağırlık verilmesi geleneksel yaklaşıma göre daha sık ve farklı nitelikte ölçme araç veya yöntemlerinin kullanılmasını gerektirir. Çeşitli performansa dayalı etkinliklerde öğretmen merkezli değerlendirmelerin yanı sıra öğrencilerin de değerlendirme sürecine katıldıkları yöntemlere başvurulmaktadır. Bu yöntemlerden birisi öz değerlendirmedir. Araştırmanın amacı öğretmen adaylarının öz değerlendirme yöntemine ilişkin görüşlerini ortaya koymaktır. Araştırma Amasya Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi’nde 2012-2013 öğretim yılında birinci ve dördüncü sınıf n=243 öğretmen adayı ile Eğitim Bilimine Giriş ve Özel Eğitim derslerinde yürütülmüştür. Araştırma sürecinde öğretmen adaylarına performans görevi verilmiş ardından kendilerini öz değerlendirme yöntemi ile değerlendirmeleri istenmiştir. Öğretmen adaylarına sunulan açık uçlu üç sorudan oluşan soru formu ile öz değerlendirme yöntemine ilişkin görüşleri belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen nitel veriler betimsel analiz yapılarak bulgular literatür bağlamında tartışılmıştır. Öğretmen adaylarının uygulama sonrasında öz değerlendirme yöntemini kullanma konusunda olumlu bir tutuma sahip oldukları saptanmıştır.
