Özet: Bu makalede işletmelerde kriz yönetimi hakkında bilgi verilmiş ve krizlerin işletmeler üzerine olası etkileri tartışılmıştır. Kriz, işletmelerin iç veya dış çevrelerinin beklenmedik bir şekilde değişmesi sonucunda ortaya çıkan ve işletmenin fiziki ve fınansal durumunu, geleceğini ve çalışanlarını fiziksel ve ruhsal olarak tehdit eden olaylar olarak tanımlanabilir. Kriz yönetimi ise, krize ve krizin etkilerine karşı yapılması gerekenlerin belirlenmesi, kriz planlarının yapılması, uygulamaya konulması ve sonuçların değerlendirilmesi olarak ifade edilebilir. Krizlerin işletmeler üzerine her zaman olumsuz etkilerinin olmadığı bazen de işletmelere önemli fırsatlar sağladığı savunulmaktadır. Krizlerin olumlu ve olumsuz etkilerinin belirlenmesi ve işletme lehine kullanılabilmesi için bazı yönetim mekanizmalarının kurulması gerekir.
