The main purpose of this research is to investigate eight grade students’ reading habits and mathematical courses in terms of various variables. The sample of the study consists of 323 eight grade students attending to secondary schools in Kahramanmaraş city. Reading Habit Survey was used as data collection tool. Students’ scores of mathematics and science lesson gathered from Central Common Examination were used as their quantitative courses achievements in 2014-2015 educational years. Some of the findings indicate that students’ preschool education availability has significant effect on some of their teaching habits and quantitative course achievements; gender variable doesn’t significantly affect quantitative course achievement, but generally female students’ some reading habits are significantly higher than male students’; there are positive correlations between some reading habits and quantitative course achievements.
