In this study, Palmer Drought Severity Index (PDSI) obtained by using the temperature and precipitation data from 96 meteorological stations in Turkey and the data soil water-holding capacity (AWHC) of DAAC in the U.S. ORNL data. PDSI classes converted to seven drought sub-classes as NOAA classification, and then drought probabilities were obtained. Aim of this study is detect and compare spatial distributions of climatological drought probabilities over Turkey. According to obtained patterns, distribution of extreme drought and wet probabilities show that similar patterns. On the other hand, area of high probabilities of the normal class response to low probability of extremes drought and wet areas. The class with the highest occurrence frequency or probability is normal in drought probability classes. Keywords: Palmer Drought Severity Index (PDSI), Climatological probability, Drought probabilities
