The most important event in the modernization of the Republic of Turkey in 1923 was the achievement of transfering multi-party system. Turkish politics, which eperienced multi-party system twice, failed in its first attempt. However, the weakening of the current authoritarian regimes after World War II and the feeling of the impact of the democratization process in the world led Turkey to the period of rapid change. Multi-party life has strengthened the rhetoric of democracy. Establishment phase and the afterwards story of coming to the power of Democratic Party, one of the important opposition parties of the Turkish political life, have an important place at this stage. In this framework, the first phase of the work has been constituted by the elections done by double-degree system between 1923-1943. In the second phase, the transition from one-party system to the multi-party system, and the political structure of the period over the election system, which carried Democrat Party to power in 1950, has been studied. At this stage, double degree and single degree election system was analyzed, the related election laws and political environment examined, the periodicals, magazines, and articles and books written on the subject constituted the tools of the study.
