Wooden buildings have an important place in Anatolian building culture. These works of public architecture, mostly produced by locals of that area, are elements of cultural heritage that need to be both nationally and universally recognized and protected. Anatolian culture of wooden buildings mainly include examples of civil architecture. Despite their limited number, wooden mosques are further architectural works that are worth examining Anatolian culture of buildings as they are very rich in structural quality. However, there are only few studies on wooden mosques in the literature. In this sense, the objective of this study was to examine structural characteristics of Iznik Elmalı Ahşap Camii (Wooden Mosque) that plays an important role in Anatolian culture of wooden buildings and was constructed by wood materials
