Bir dönemin anlatımında ve yazımında kavramlar çok önemli bir konumdadır. Kavramların doğru kullanımı anlatılan tarihi dönemin daha iyi kavranmasını sağlayacak ve o döneme yönelik zihinsel derinlik kazandıracaktır. Bu bağlamda çalışmamızda Osmanlı – Türk modernleşme tarihinin miladı olarak kabul edilen Tanzimat dönemi kavramlar zemininden hareketle açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. Aynı zamanda tarafımızca tespiti yapılan kavramların, 2015-2016 eğitim öğretim yılında 9., 10. Ve 11. sınıflarda okutulan tarih ders kitaplarında Tanzimat dönemi ele alınırken kullanılıp kullanılmadığı, kullanılmışsa doğru bir şekilde mi kullanıldığı hususları da ele alınmıştır. Çalışmada Tanzimat döneminin tercih edilmesinin sebebi, bu dönemde çok sayıda yeni kavramın düşünsel boyutta tartışılmaya başlanmasıdır. Ayrıca bu dönem kullanılmaya başlayan kavramlar ileriki yıllarda da literatürdeki yerini korumuş ve tartışılmaya devam etmiştir. Ancak söz konusu dönemde kullanılan kavramlar, günümüzde Tanzimat dönemi yazınında kullanılmaya başladığı dönemki anlamına yakın ve doğru bir şekilde kullanılmakta iken, diğer bir kısmı tamamen göz ardı edilmektedir. Bu durum zaman zaman o dönem hakkında anakronizm problemini ortaya çıkarmaktadır. Bundan dolayı çalışmamızda Tanzimat dönemi kavramlar zemininden hareketle açıklanmıştır. Çalışmada yöntem olarak tarihsel araştırma ve betimsel yöntem kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonucunda Tanzimat dönemini nitelemede kullanılması gereken kavramlar tespit edilmiş ve bu kavramlar yoluyla Tanzimat dönemi anlatısı oluşturulmuştur. Ayrıca incelenen tarih ders kitaplarında söz konusu kavramlardan bazılarının doğru şekilde ve doğru yerde kullanıldığı gözlemlenirken, var olan kavram yanılgıları ve değinilmeyen kavramların hangileri olduğu çalışmamızda açıklanmıştır
Concepts have very important position for writing and presenting of a period. The correct concepts using will ensure a better understanding of a historical period and will provide intellectual depth towards that period. In this context, in our study, the Tanzimat period that accepted as turning point of the Ottoman-Turkish modernization process was explained by using of the concepts. Then, the following questions were explained: Were these concepts used in history textbooks used 9th, 10th and 11th classes in 2015-2016 education year? Were these concepts used correctly as meaning in history textbooks used 9th, 10th and 11th classes in 2015-2016 education year? The reason of the choice of the Tanzimat period in the study is being discussed in the intellectual dimension of the many new concept in this period. In addition, the concepts began to be used in the Tanzimat period have been maintained its place in the literature of this period and continue to be discussed. However, while the some concepts used in that period have been used correctly as meaning, some concepts have been completely ignored for presenting of that period today. This case also raises the problem of anachronism on that period. Therefore, in our study Tanzimat period was explained correctly by using of concepts. As method, historical research and descriptive method was used in this study. As a result of the study was identified the concepts to be used in the characterization of the Tanzimat period and the presentation of the Tanzimat period was created through these concepts. In addition, some of the concepts in the history textbooks was observed to be used correctly. In addition misconceptions and lacking concepts in the history textbooks were explained in this study
