The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between epistemological beliefs and educational philosophies of the teacher candidates adopted regarding to the a variety of variables. The sample of the study consists of 245 teacher candidates, who study at the social studies department of the faculty of education at a state university in 2012-2013 academic year. “Epistemological Belief Scale” and “Educational Belief Scale” are the assessment instruments in this “survey model”. Descriptive statistics, Mann Whitney U, Kruskal Wallis and Correlation analyses are used for data analysis. According to the findings of the study, no meaningful differences have been found between the epistemological and educational beliefs of Social Studies Teacher Candidates in terms of gender; however, a meaningful difference has been spotted in terms of the class variable. A relationship has also been found between the epistemological and educational beliefs of the Social Studies teacher candidates.
