Turkish communities like many other communities living in Siberia had to use limited potentialities of the region in the best way.With the purpose of obtaining healthy nutrition in the region which possesses rich (underground resources) in many ways and limited (especially) potentialities in many other ways, many resources have been used. Among these resources, there were spontaneously-reproducing roots in the nature. In Siberian Turkish communities, the plant called “Kandık” draws attention not only as a nutrient but also as a kind of plant which has a place in faith. This plant which was consumed a lot in the past especially during starvation years has begun to become extint due to urbanization and other factors.
