Russian Chronicles state that the first relationship between the Russian and tribes living in Siberia started in the eleventh century. İt is also seen that Russian invasion policy towards Siberia started in the 16th century. This policy of Russia caused Siberia to change in many ways. Consequently, collective migration of the Russian to the region and cultural change afterwards are among the results. On the other hand, Siberia is considered to play role in Russian literature both geographically and culturally in the twentieth century when historical and social events took place one after another. Thus, Siberian authors initiate the village prose at the time of recovering after the Second World War. In this study, it is aimed to discuss Russia's 16-20th century invasion policies toward Siberia and their consequences and to focus on importance of Siberia in the 20-th century Russian literature.
