In this study, Russia’s Gallipoli Strait and Istanbul policy from the end of the 19th century to First World War, and Russia’s tactics to capture the Straits were presented. In this context, Russia’s diplomatic and military preparations were evaluated. Russia’s demarche and even Russia’s military campaign plan in 1908 and during Balkan Wars were mentioned. Accordingly, the subject of reinforcing Black Sea fleet was also discussed. In result, the fact that Russia planned to capture the Straits during general European war was emphasised. All Russia’a activities done to reach the goal were extensively evaluated in this study
