Abstract:

The main reason in the begining of Arabic dictionary studies is worry about not to be understood the Quran. Therefore, related studies, include many words of the Quran and their interprations. In this aspect the first dictionaries should be seen as a examples of philologial commentary. İbn Durayd as a significiant language scholar has stated near five hundred verses and interpreted just as it Quran words in his work named “Cemheretu’l-Luga”. A rich exegetical commentary material in this work offered by author shows the fact that he has a considerable accumulation in the science of interpretion as philology. İbn Durayd has used both rivayet and dirayet methots in interpration of Quran words
