Bu çalışmada, tarım sektörü ve tarıma dayalı sanayinin Türkiye ekonomisi¬ne olan katkısı input- output analiz tekniği kullanılarak incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Input-output analizi için Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu'nun Türkiye ekonomisi için hazırladığı 1998yılına ait input-output tabloları kullanılmıştır. Tarım sektörü ve tarıma dayalı sanayiler için toplam üretim çarpanı, sektöre! çarpan, ileri ve geri bağlantı indeksi ile ileri ve geri bağlantı katsayıları hesaplanmıştır. Bir sektörün nihai talebinin 1 birimlik artışının toplam üretime etkisini açıklayan toplam üretim çarpanı, tahıl ve diğer bitkisel üretim için 5,0742, hayvancılık için 1,9996 olarak belirlenmiştir. Türkiye ekonomisi için tahıl ve diğer bitkisel üretim, hayvancılık, tekstil iplikçiliği ve dokumacılık sanayi, deri ve deri mamulleri sanayi, kereste ve parke sanayi, kâğıt ve kâğıt ürünleri sanayi, temizlik ve kimyasal ürünler imalatı, demirçelik ana sanayi, demir-çelik dışındaki ana metal sanayi, diğer metal eşyalarının imalatı, metal işleri ile ilgili hizmet faaliyeti, lokanta, kahvehane, bar ve yeme içme hizmetleri üretimi kilit sektör olarak belirlenmiştir.
