The teachers who are the most important component of the formal education have a big role on formulation of students’ environmentally behaviours. At this point, water consumption behaviours of the teachers who are model for the students are very important. For this reason, conscious water consumption behaviours must be acquired to the prospective teachers in teacher education instituations. In this study, it is aimed to determine the prospective teachers’ water consumption behaviours and to make some recommendations for improving the erroneous of them. The study was conducted in 2007-2008 spring academic year with 139 senior class biology, chemistry and physics education students attended to secondary education program in Kazim Karabekir Education Faculty at Atatürk University. Determination of the prospective teachers’ water consumption behaviours, a thrre-likert type “Conscious Water Consumption Survey” consisted of 13 statements that was developed by researchers was used in the study. At the result it was found that the prospective teachers didn’t care of the water management. Also, it was determined that the prospective teachers’ water cosumption behaviours didn’t differ according to their gender, age, department and living place.
