Generally cinema and especially Hollywood cinema is a part of the industrial production. Production of movies are mostly shaped with the expectations of popular culture. Popular themes or fantastic stories are rebuilt for the political purposes in Hollywood narratives indeed. The science-fiction genre, which was continued one’s existence since the beginning of Hollywood cinema to this day, can be dealt with in this context. Fears and concerns that society will face in the future are mostly figured in the science-fiction movies. On the other hand, the genre of science fiction is also divided into subspecies: Such fantasy films, movies on the theme of technology and space movies presented in series format. Star Wars movies that are produced periodically since 1977, will be handled in the study. Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) movie will be examined by “semiological film analysis method” in the study. The model of Christian Metz is taken as a reference in the analysis of the film. The purpose of the study is examined the ideological representations presented in the Star Wars films and to reveal the periodic worries of the sovereign structure. In this context, the narrative of the film was examined with the other stories in the series together and the obtained data was interpreted in conclusion.
