Construction sector uses natural resources and plays a role in the deterioration of the natural balance with greenhouse gas emissions. The negative environmental impacts of buildings can be reduced by reducing energy consumption and the use of renewable clean energy (solar, wind, etc.) and sources. This study, it is aimed at evaluating the energy consumption and environmental impacts of buildings with different characteristics selected from Canyon by renovating and integrating active solar systems. Buildings that differ according to construction system and zoning status are analyzed with Graphisoft Archicad Program Eco-Designer Star module. The uninsulated state of the buildings (Scenario 1), the insulated state of the buildings (Scenario 2) and the insulated state in addition to the renewable active solar energy systems integrated into the buildings are evaluated (Scenario 3). When Scenario 1 and Scenario 2 are evaluated, it is seen that the annual primary energy consumption and CO2 emissions of buildings improved by 32%-67%, and the total annual energy consumption is 29%-64%. When Scenario 2 and Scenario 3 are evaluated, it is seen that the annual primary energy consumption and annual CO2 emissions of buildings improved by 17%- 32%, and the total annual energy consumption is improved by 16%-30%. Although Cracovia is located in a region with low solar potential, it is possible to reduce the carbon footprint in buildings with the correct design of the building shell and integration of renewable solar energy systems.
