Industry Inner Trade (IT) is defined as the import and export of products produced in the same sector as equivalent. The Market Size Effect (PBE) is the proportional relationship between a country’s share in global production of any goods and the country’s demand for the same goods. When we take into account the increasing yield by scale, the existence of uncompetitive markets and transport costs, PBE results in the fact that a country with domestic demand for any goods above the world average has a share of production above the world average in the same goods. The PBE thesis, which was revealed with Krugman (1980) to identify the components of international trade, has been tested in many empirical studies until today. However, there was no study of EIT and PBE together. The element that motivates us to this study is the idea that the market size may be one of the determiners of the EIT, which is associated with the increasing revenue and transportation costs according to the scale. The purpose of the study is to figure out whether the PBE is one of the determiners of the EIT. In this context, 34 OECD countries, the manufacturing industry in the years 2000-2016 have done dynamic panel data analysis using external trade data and country data. According to the results obtained, the ratio of the variables we include in the model represented by PBE (production scale, transportation costs) has been meaningful and the conclusion has been that PBE is a variable that contributes to the EIT according to our expectations. The important contribution of this study is that PBE has been given a new perspective from the point of view of EIT. It is believed that the theoretical contribution of the achieved results, as well as the political practices of the countries towards the external trade components, will be able to keep light.
