Abstract:

The developments that bring out the processes of modernization, industrialization and urbanization bring about changes in the social structure. Demographic structure which is an element of social structure is also affected by these changes. Advances in science and technology, developments in the field of health, new production model and working conditions, increasing living standards prolong human life. The longer the people live, the more the number of elderly people in society. In this context, societies are getting older. On the other hand, new living conditions and developments increase loneliness. Thus, societies are increasingly confronted with a phenomenon of “old age alone.. However, cultural differences create a different age alone. Individuals who have to age alone, or live alone when they age, do not experience the same psychosocial situation. The study based on the results of the field research aims to explain this.
