As a representative of Alevi society, Âşık Hulusî of Samsun both sits in his master's office and keeps the tradition of Âşık literature with poems he has spoken. In addition, being Âşık with bade connects him to the tradition firmly. But there are some inconsistencies in the syllable meter used in his poems. His not knowing how to play saz is a great loss for the tradition. However he can be regarded as an Âşık who keeps tradition alive due to his saying original poems inspired by the Alevi poets who lived before him, his devotion to their belief system with a great love, and his intense performance of producing poems about Ehlibeyt, Hz. Ali and Hz. Hüseyin when compared to other Alevi poets. In our study, Âşık Hulusî about whom there exists no study except for the publication of his poems will be discussed. After explaining the life, art and themes of the poet with examples, some of his poems will be included.
