The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between preschool teacher candidates' emotional intelligence levels and their adjustment to university life. In this study, a screening model was applied to examine the relationship between the levels of emotional intelligence and the level of adjustment to university life. The study group consisted of 425 preservice preschool teacher in the Pre-School Education Department of two state and two foundation universities in Istanbul province in 2018-2019 academic year. “Schutte Emotional Intelligence Scale” and “Adjustment to University Life Scale” were used as data collection tools. As a result of the study, preschool teacher candidates' emotional intelligence and adjustment to university life are high; It was found that there was a high level, positive and significant relationship between levels of emotional intelligence and level of adjustment to university life. While there was no significant difference between preschool teacher candidates' emotional intelligence and adjustment to university life according to gender variable (p> .05), it was concluded that there was a significant difference in favor of 4th grade teacher candidates according to the class level variable.
