Özet:

In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between intercultural sensitivity skills and student leadership in teacher candidates. Around this purpose, it was investigated whether the total scores of the teacher candidates from the intercultural sensitivity and student leadership scales differ significantly compared to other variables and whether there is a significant relationship between intercultural sensitivity and student leadership in teacher candidates. This research was designed according to relational screening model. Sample of the research is 201 teacher candidates who are studying in various departments of Marmara University Atatürk Faculty of Education and participating in the research voluntarily. Intercultural Sensitivity Scale and Student Leadership Scale were used at the data collection stage. Descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlation analysis, and One-Way Anova tests were used to analyze the data. It was concluded that there was a significant difference between the variable of Intercultural Sensitivity and the variable of "having friends from a different country or culture" and that the student leadership behavior levels of female students were higher than that of male students. It is seen that there is a moderate, positive and meaningful relationship between the intercultural sensitivities of teacher candidates and student leadership.
