Özet:

The issue of the authority of the sunnah is a subject that many scholars have given thought to and made various evaluations up to this day. The Sunnah is the words, acts and approvals of the Prophet who notify Islam to the people. Due to the fact that the Prophet's Sunnah has an important place in understanding and practicing the religion of Islam, Muslim scholars have made different classifications in this subject since the first centuries. Recently, in the XIX. and XX. century- Ibn 'Âshûr (1879-1973), the scientist who lived in Tunisia and left influences in the Islamic world, has made a classification about the sunnah. Ibn 'âshûr divided the sunah into twelve parts, which can be considered quite detailed. The author gave brief explanations about these titles from time to time but rather dealt with the subject of the authority of the sunnah by giving examples from hadiths. In this study, after making a brief introduction following the induction method, the classification of the scholars before Ibn 'Âshûr will be pointed out, then the author's classification will be given in detail and an evaluation will be made.
