Although the foundations of Khaber theory of Hanafi has been laid by Îsâ b. Ebân and Cessâs who are leading names of Kûfe school of thought, systematizing the theory has been realized by Debûsî, Pezdevî and Serahsî who are the founder members of the principles of Hanafi’s school of Islamic Jurisprudence. From this point, each books written by that three mujtahids on the principle of Islamic Jurispridence have a significant place among the important classical books on the principles of Islamic jurisprudence of Hanafi. The book writen by Serahsî on the principles Islamic Jurisprudence is not a course book, rather it is written in a detailed manner for the experts of this domain. While analyzing the khaber (report) theory of Hanafi school of thought, Serahsî has continued his existing manner about this issue and he has written about the subjects that are not mentioned in other books and can be seen as more detailed issues. In addition touching upon the alleged condition that ‘narrator should be mujtehid’ as to approving the report of one person (ahad khaber) which has been a discussed subject in the report theory (haber teorisi) of Hanafi school, Serahsî has attributed further importance to mutevatir khaber and its information value. In this study, we will try to identify and present the direct contribution of Serahsî to the report theory of Hanafi school of thought and indirect contribution to field of the Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence
