The aim of the study is to bring up how the typography education is practised in Education Faculty Department of Fine Arts Education Program at Graphic Studio Courses. The study is designed in terms of mixed research method. The questionnare is applied to 45 faculties, who are taught or currently teaching graphic studio courses in those programs. In addition to the questionnaire, semi structured interviews were held with 7 faculties among the participants of the study. It is observed that, the faculties assigned importance to the utilization of various activities that fosters typography training such as making use of various approaches and techniques in teaching, preparing project works, providing theoretical background and practicing through various themes and techniques during planning. In terms of the obstacles that the faculties faced, student oriented problems, the insufficiency sources related to the typography training, and lack of enough time for the courses were reported by the participants. Advocating the fundamental role of handwriting in typography training, most of the faculties suggested that the content of the handwriting courses should be enhanced by the field experts.
