faAfter the conquest of the Seljuk sultans to Anatolia and the establishment of the Anatolian Seljuk State, the Persian language was moved to this land; also through migrations of poets and scholars, on the other side it continued its existance as a literary language and was used as an educational language. The preparation of Arabic-Persian dictionaries in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries indicates that at that time in the some of madrasah the language of education was Persian. Although the Persian language started to be forgotten, it has gained widespread popularity among poets and scholars. In the late of fourteenth century teaching and learning Persian become a necessity. Those who are engaged in teaching and learning, those who have knowledge of Persian; have found it necessary to write a dictionary explain in Turkish and a grammar book. Thus, from the beginning of the fifteenth century, it has been started to be written Persian-Turkish dictionaries. The Turkish-language dictionary authors have also mantioned grammar topics in their dictionaries; those who have knowlegde of Persian, have written independent treatises which include grammatical bases, and those who have verse ability processed these rules as verse. Persian speech guides was also prepared separately from the dictionary and grammar books. One of these books is Tuhfetu’l-‘Uşşâk. In this article, the historical perspective of teaching Persian language in Anatolia will be mantioned; Tuhfetu’l-‘Uşşâk which is thought to be the first work in the form of a conversation guide for teaching Persian in fifteenth century will be introduced.
