Özet:

    Psychohistory is a discipline that seeks to understand the development and change of human history from the perspective of two different disciplines, psychology and historical sciences. Psychohistory helps us to analyze history of human beings from the point of view of psychology and to understand the impact of human behavior and motivation on historical events. Some of the researches based on violence in society involve a psychohistorical perspective to group dynamics and unconscious motivation behind these dynamics. At this point, psychohistorical researches are conducted in order to understand these group Dynamics. In this study, individual and societal violence is taken into consideration from the view of psychohistory. Lloyd de Mause, in his researches conducted in United States of America, suggested a concept of historical group fantasies which are present in society in a continuous form of cycle. These shared historical group fantasies are also associated with another important topic of psychohistory which is the common childrearing styles of people living in the same historical period. Regarding this, it is suggested that shared unconscious processes does have a role in historical changes in society. Violence in society and continuous cycles of these violent acts, are in relation with unconscious processes. Mutual childrearing styles, cultural features, shared group dynamics have a role in formation of historical events. Under these circumstances, with the help of research techniques of psychohistory, the relationship between group dynamics and violent events in society can be examined in more detail. As a result, some solutions for violent events can be constituted with the contribution of a different perspective.
